After about two weeks of using Olay’s Night of Olay Firming Cream, I decided it was time for a review of the product! Most people who are serious about finding a skin care system that really works for them (and for their skin!) prefer to read about products before purchasing them. If you’re like me, you’ve probably spent countless dollars on products that, at best, didn’t work for you, and at worst, made your skin condition worse. No one likes that! So, here is one product I would highly recomend.
Note: I do not own any of the information taken from the box, jar, or website. All information regarding the product, aside from my own opinions, belongs to Olay. Photo of the product can be seen here: http://www.olay.com/products/ge1013

Product Result: This product is a yes. It is definitely worth trying. I am completely satisfied with it.

Packaging: Simple, yet classy boxed jar. The one I purchased actually says “New Look” on the outside box packaging, so I am not sure what the outdated one looked like, but I am pleased with this one. All of the information is easy to see, read, etc. I bought the 2.0 (56 g) jar of cream. I actually think it looks very pretty and soft. The lid has a nice contour on the top, as opposed to just being flat. There is a thick plastic disc between the lid and the product, which I love. It prevents any product from drying on the inside of the lid. (Brilliant idea, I think.) Company contact information is printed clearly on the jar and on the box it comes in. Packaging is a yes.

Directions: Obviously, since it is a night cream, users are instructed to smooth onto the face and neck every evening. The product is meant to restore softer and smoother skin. Olay recommends, of course, to cleanse your face before using a moisturizer. Simplicity is a yes.

Product Purpose: Night of Olay’s Firming Cream is intended to moisturize the skin and soothe dry skin for up to 12 hours. It is also supposed to provide an intensive treatment for your skin as you sleep at night so you wake with more toned and “firm” skin! The product is also intended to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Purpose is a yes.

My opinion of the product: I love this product. I have found that it does everything it claims to be able to do. I love the scent of the product. It is very light and slightly calming. The product does have a pink tint to it, so if you are allergic to Red-4, I do not recommend this product for your skin. This Olay product is distributed by Procter and Gamble, whose policy on animal testing and research can be found in the quote below. The product does not cause my skin to break out. It leaves my skin feeling soft and smoothe, as it promises, in the morning, and I have noticed a difference in the tone and firmness of my skin. I would highly recommend this product. As a younger woman, I believe in investing in good skin care now to prevent problems later, and this product is an excellent choice for anyone looking to do the same, or to start using skin care products. The product is very affordable. I paid less than $10 for it at a local Walmart. Can it get any better?

Ultimate Answer: Yes. I recommend this product.

Procter and Gamble’s policy about research involving animals, taken from their site:

P&G has ended research involving animals on all our finished consumer products except when required by law. We use non-animal alternatives first. We’ll only use animal testing when there are no other reasonable options.http://www.pg.com/science/animal_alt.jhtml

In our Healthcare business, we’re focused on developing innovative medicines that improve people’s lives. Current regulatory standards require animal research while developing these medications. It’s our policy to use the minimum number of animals necessary while working toward our goal of the reduction and replacement of animals. We continue to identify screening techniques that are acceptable to global regulatory groups to take the place of animal tests in the earliest phase of drug discovery.

Through our pet care and nutrition products, we help dogs and cats live longer, healthier lives. We feed our foods first to dogs and cats to help us develop nutrition that delivers true health benefits to millions of pets worldwide. We make sure the dogs and cats we work with receive the best care. We treat them as if they’re our own pets. They are adopted into loving homes or placed in our retirement facility when their help is no longer needed. At the same time, we’re working hard on alternatives to find even better ways of getting these results and eliminating the need for additional research with other animals.

We’d rather use alternative test methods. Not only is the use of animals avoided, but reliable alternative tests generally cost less and take less time than animal research. We’d like to be able to eliminate animal research on ingredients in consumer products altogether, and we’re making progress. We’ve invested over $190 million in alternatives, making us an industry leader. We’ve helped develop over 50 alternative methods and have shared our work in over 300 scientific publications. We’re also working with the FDA and respected animal welfare groups, such as the Humane Society of the United States, to work on reforming regulations and validating alternative methods.

Did you ever wonder, when you were young, why your mother insisted you eat your greens? Especially broccoli. Most of us probably hated eating our broccoli. As it turns out, our mothers were much smarter than we! Broccoli is a highly nutritious vegetable – one we should regularly consume for our own health benefits.

Broccoli is a member of the cabbage family of vegetables and contains rich amounts of Vitamins C, K, and A. Other nutrients found in broccoli include zinc, Omega 3′s, potassium, some of the B vitamins, magnesium, calcium, iron, protein and dietary fiber. All of which are necessary for good health. Broccoli is also known for the amount of anti-cancer nutrients it contains. Lutein is also prevalent in rich supply. (Lutein is extremely beneficial for eye health.) Such a bountifully healthy snack, yet so few calories!

Broccoli is easy to add to almost any meal. Lightly stir-fry it in Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) for a light, almost buttery flavor. Steam broccoli with a touch of lemon joice and cracked pepper to add a little zing to your supper. Or eat it raw dipped in a homemade vinaigrette! You don’t want to boil or microwave broccoli, as doing so removes much of broccoli’s nutritional and anti-cancerous values. But it does not take long to properly prepare it and its benefits make it taste even more magnificent! Enjoy your broccoli today.
